boy of steel

This is what I came home to today. Kasie had called to warn me that her son pulled the file cabinet down on himself (what you're looking at is a file cabinet with it's drawers opened on its front). She heard a loud crash and went out to find him pinned underneath. We were happy he hadn't been crushed to death. That sucker is not light. I wondered how he had escaped without breaking something and then the next thing I saw was my revelation.

(Cue the superman theme song) Yes, it was superboy! Born from two superhero parents- a father whose strength and speed and superhandsomeness are legendary throughout the village of Brigham City; and a mom whose powers are primarily blogging based- it made sense that the boy would have the ability to not only destroy anything he touches with blinding speed, but also be impervious to the ill effects- such as being crushed or cleaning up after his super-messes. Yes, it has all become clear to me. Now, how to slow down his super-destructiveness....hmmm...

Side note: The second picture was taken just after I lifted the file cabinet back up off the ground.
Side note 2: Earlier in the day to save her son, Kasie had a burst of supermom strength to lift that thing off him just long enough so he could wriggle out.

  1. Scariest thing ever. Lesson learned--secure furniture to the wall. I feel so relieved that no serious injuries occurred from this. The top drawer, which is the heaviest, missed him and the bottom drawers, which are lighter, made it so I could lift it from the bottom and help him out.

  2. Wow! I think you guys are being blessed (must be the seminary teaching and yours & Kasie's record church attendance hmm. hmmm.). You guys are VERY lucky cutie boy wasn't hurt! We've bolted Hunter's bookshelf in his bedroom to the wall but I do worry about our bookshelf in the family room. I'm not sure that my boy is equally as strong and has the super powers that yours does. He's still in diapers & doesn't have the awesome underwear that Donavan does. On a side note, welcome back to blogging--you've been missed!

  3. Oh my goodness! That is so scary! Good thing he was blessed with amazing genetics and has superhuman strength. He also pulls off the uniform very well.
