never a prouder father
I know I thought I was proud when he fell asleep holding the dollar, (see post from May 2nd, the good, the bad, and the ugly) but this is even better. I'm dreaming too, of a luxurious retirement funded entirely from the proceeds of the boy playing professional basketball.
To this end, I have built him a practice court seen here.
I know what you're thinking, this looks small. Well, what if I told you that I took this shot from a mile away. Hmm? Not so small anymore is it? It's actually an enormous amount of concrete that I'm trying to keep from cracking by spraying it with water twice a day. Imagine the neighbor's thrill at hearing bouncing basketball noises all hours of the day and night from now until they finally move. This is a picture of the standard on the ground before we attached the glass and raised it up. It took 4 guys and all of now have hernias.
From a distance.
Another stunning view. The rim is not attached in this shot because I could barely contain the urge to hammer dunk once it was up and the cement still needed some time to cure. Had I not given it that time and dunked prematurely, I would have ripped the rim, backboard, and the entire pole structure along with the 4 foot deep concrete footings out of the ground with my Herculean power. It would have been a cool picture, but it's just too much hassle to start over.

That thing is MASSIVE. Looks awesome! Can't wait to pull out my lawn chair and lay out on it!
ReplyDeleteI know one future neighbor that is probably very glad you put that thing in.
