When we were in London we saw the musical "Wicked". I'm not a musical fan- per se, which is a latin phrase that means "I'd rather have someone touch my eyeball with their unwashed finger for 10 seconds straight". However, the charming English accents and the humorous songs made me not hate it.
One problem remains though, and that is that my mind has been totally blown. The musical is a backfill story explaining the gaps in the "Wizard of Oz". Now that I know the truth, how can I hate the wicked witch anymore? The tin man is really the one to hate?
I am now questioning all my core beliefs. Is up now down? Are dogs that marry cats not to be hated above all other unions in nature? Should I not think "Hot Rod" is a hilarious movie? Should I not hate the faux musician "Adele"?
Oh, honey, please do not rank on Adele or I might have to destroy all the copies of "Hot Rod" that exist in the world. And as much as you're trying to play "nonchalant" (which is a latin term meaning 'I like to pretend to be super manly even though I cried like a baby when Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks met at the top of the empire state building') I know you LOVED Wicked.
ReplyDeleteAn unwashed finger in the eyeball for that long is really not that bad. It happens to me every morning when I put my contacts in and then proceed to pull them back out because there's lint on them and then put them back in. As to your core beliefs... yes, yes, and yes.
ReplyDeleteWICKED is one of my favorite musicals. When I first listened to the music and read the story (not the novel, because it's not good), I was surprised, too. Interesting that you liked this when you don't like musicals in general. Says a lot. :)
ReplyDeleteSo, So jealous! So, so jealous! And how cool to get to say you saw a London Musical! Not very many people can say that! Hehehe! Jenni
ReplyDeleteHa Ha--you love musicals AND you cried when Meg & Tom finally met up? Maybe what you should really be questioning right now is your manhood. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I hate to dignify my wife's comment with a response, I feel I must defend my honor. I did not cry at any point during any Meg Ryan or Tom Hanks movie except perhaps with laughter during "Big" when he was playing with the transformer skyscraper toy.
ReplyDeletei didnt even read that. i couldnt because of the disturbing music
ReplyDeleteI think I believe Kasie, even if she does hear crazy voices in her head, you cried. It's okay to admit it.....:)
